Another one of my favourites. This piece was an Old place mat. Its Paint on linen. Beautiful. Finished off with an Antique brass coloured frame.

Purses to go to 'I dream a highway!!'

OK, so where does all the time go? My last entry was on Feb 15Th, and it only feels like yesterday.

I have recently been lucky to get a store in Melbourne that would love to stock my purses. Its called I DREAM A HIGHWAY, 259 High st Northcote. Go check out their web page http://www.idreamahighway.com.au/ Its a very very funky space with all sorts of different designers. I'm so excited. Being a Victorian Country girl myself it feels really right to be sending down a big order to them. Its the most purses I have had to make at one time.......This is the first time I have thought, OK maybe I do need someone to help me sew??

There are cut outs of purses in every corner of our home. I think they call it organised Kayos? I am doing 10 of each size, which would make it 40!! Do you know for that amount of purses, there is 320 pieces to be cut out, before any sewing is even thought about. Then there is the ironing of 160 pieces, then there is the assembly of each purses, then the labels (2 on each) the pinning and THEN, I can think about sewing!! Its SUCH a process. I think that's why I am so happy when I finally do get one done that is fantastic, different to all that you see in stores and has everyone oohing and ahhing over it!!

So, now ill let you in on where I'm at at this stage.....I have 300 pieces cut, labels on, ironing done of 100 pieces and am thinking about sewing. OH, I nearly forgot, I picked up my new machine today..........I'm nervous to sew with it its so beautiful. Not the top of the line, well I wouldn't know actually, but anyway, its going to be fantastic for what I do.

A gift for a friend

I made this Large purse last week for a very dear friend Carley.My sewing machine decided to end its time on earth a while ago, so ive been using her machine until mine is off layby. It so nice to be able to make things for people and get such an intense reaction when they recieve it. Carley was sooo so happy with this little number it made my day!!

First day of school!!!

Do you remember your first day of school?

My eldest daughter started school yesterday and I was SO so proud of her. It was a real feat from both of us actually, as we are both quite emotional beings. There were no tears! OK, so I had a couple when I was having my shower but I kept it all to myself. Got to school and off she went with a skip in her step. It was really exciting. Marconi had the day off which was nice, that little bit of moral support helps.

So then came the second day off school....dropped the younger one ( Estella) to Pre school and then Camila to school, well it was a whole different feeling doing it by myself....i looked back at her sitting all alone on the mat, then to see a lovely little NEW friend come and sit with her and start chatting, brought tears to my eyes. You will be ok at school my little darling.

Off I went home, proud and emotional.

This Fabric is a screen printed piece of Linen from the 60s. Just beautiful.

I Lovvvvveeeee this one. Its Extra large, and fits everything.....your little coin purse, mobile phone, shopping list, car and house keys, your lip balm, all thosse little things we have lying around in our bags, this fits!

Just fold it over , or not, and pop it under your arm and off you go.

I have always been a BAG LADY and could never have enough purses on the go at once. SO, I thought Id start a business doing what I love most. Ive been making purses now for about 2-3 years, from recycled fabrics. I don't have a big studio where I work, just my dinning room table.....very HUMBLE!!
I have added a link to my Etsy store that I opened ...ummm, OK, well nearly 2 years ago, and have yet to list anything (time is precious) or should I say fears stood in the way? Go and take a look. So whatever it is you LOVE in life. Do it and do it well, you cant ask for much more....you'll feel good for it. Dont worry how long it takes, everyting happens when It is meant to, its the Universes timing that makes it. Perfect!

OK, so that took a while to get back. I got sooo lost. After a wonderfully full Christmas and New year with Family and Friends, a Camping trip I think my girls will never forget, and 2 computer crashes later.....I am HERE!! Found and almost ok with how it all works.

Im saying all this with my fingers crossed that this computer stays virus free for atleast a week so i can post some fun things.

I Thought I might start off with some corners of my home, inspiring things I like to look at and anything beautiful.....remembering Beauty is in the eye of the beholder too.

Hello and Welcome to my Blog.
Im soo excited, but I have no idea what Im doing, so this could take a while to get up and running. I realised today that I actually opened a Blog back in 2006 but forgot what name it was...hehhe oh well, this is the one to find me on.
